HEIMVORTEIL German artists from the

Under the title HEIMVORTEIL (Home Advantage) SCHAUWERK presents a selection of more than 100 works by German artists from the Schaufler Collection. The exhibition thus offers a multifarious overview of painting, light art and sculpture of the last 60 years in Germany.

ZERO avant-garde positions by Werner Bauer, Leo Erb, Heinz Mack and Günther Uecker represent an important section of German post-war art history in the Schaufler Collection. Their central concern is the overcoming of the subjective-gestural Informel in favour of a reduced elementary design vocabulary with new materials. Light and movement are thereby essential design elements.
In addition to gestural and expressive works by Georg Baselitz and A. R. Penck another main focus is on representatives of Concrete art such as Günter Fruhtrunk, Ulrich Erben and Klaus Staudt. On display as well, however, will be Minimalist positions such as from Imi Knoebel, or Constructivist sculptures by Christoph Freimann, both of whom are represented with larger work complexes in the collection.
