This exhibition offers a multifaceted view of light art from the 1960s to today.

Light has fascinated many artists and they have used it as a material. Its physical and – above all – metaphysical properties enable new visual and spatial experiences. Hence, the immaterial medium is often found in art in the form of light bulbs, fluorescent or neon tubes, glowing LEDs or powerful headlights.

On display are works from the Schaufler Collection by artists including John M Armleder, Tracey Emin, Dan Flavin, Jeppe Hein, Brigitte Kowanz, Otto Piene, and others.
